How to add local recommendations guests actually use

What to add, how many, and how to write a pick so a guest books it — plus how recommendations feed the concierge's answers.

Recommendations are the reason guests come back to the page after check-in. They're also the highest-leverage thing you can write, because the assistant uses them when a guest asks where to eat.

Add a recommendation

  1. 1

    Open the Recommendations panel

In the property editor, pick Recommendations and add a place. Search pulls in the address, opening hours and a photo where available.

  2. 2

    Say why, in one sentence

"Best coffee within walking distance" is useful. "Great coffee shop" is not. The reason is what turns a list into a recommendation.

  3. 3

    Tag it

Category and walking distance let the assistant answer "somewhere close for breakfast" without guessing.

How many is enough

Aim for coverage rather than volume: breakfast, a casual dinner, a nicer dinner, a bar, a supermarket, one thing to do, and how to get to the airport. That's seven picks and it answers most of what guests ask.

Keep them current

A closed restaurant is worse than no recommendation. Review your picks when the seasons change — it takes five minutes and it's the difference between trusted and stale.

Where they show up

  • On the guest page, as your own section, above anything commercial
  • In the assistant's answers, when a guest asks something the picks cover
  • On the map, so a guest can see what's actually near the door

If you later enable partner offers, they appear in their own labelled section below your picks — your recommendations are never reordered by who pays. See How partner offers work.
